BACKGROUND:
Harry Potter wiki, go

PERSONALITY:
While the app is actually for Grindelwald disguised as Graves, I’m going to be calling him Graves throughout to simplify things.

That the political movement Graves started in the magical world uses ‘For the Greater Good’ as its slogan says a lot about the man himself. True to all men that see their particular social class (in this case, having magic) as the superior creature among all humanity, the Greater Good of course means whatever works best for him. Graves wishes to see magical people come out of the shadows of the Harry Potter universe and take their rightful place as the rulers of the world. He would describe this ideal world of is as something analogous to what was described by Socrates in Plato’s Republic: a world ruled where the wisest and most educated philosopher kings (him and his selected wizard friends) would benevolently lead the lesser peoples (other wizards and non-magical people) for the benefit and prosperity of all. Of course, what he calls benevolent would, by many, be called ‘tyranny’ and ‘oppression,’ but no one sees themselves as the villain of their own story.

Notably, his Greater Good slogan has caught on in the wizarding world, only strengthening his conviction. His task in recent years has been focused on collecting great items or people of power to his cause, starting with the legendary Elder Wand. In Fantastic Beasts his quest continues, with him taking on the persona of Graves in order to infiltrate the American version of the Ministry of Magic and hunt down an Obscurial (a person that has suppressed their magic to the point the magic becomes essentially its own force, ready to take over the person and cause significant damage to those around it) to add to his army.

Graves uses powerful bits of emotional manipulation while searching for the Obscurial, taking an orphan boy under his wing and promising him power and privilege in the wizarding community if the boy helps. Graves believed this boy to be a squib (a person born to a magical family with no magic of their own), a creature that he considers less than human and something to be hidden or purged from his new world order. Despite this, he convincingly acted as though he cared about the boy’s future and well being, highlighting his acting skills. Talents which are also on display by the fact he was able to slip into the role of the real Graves, a ranking magical law enforcement official in America, without any of the man’s coworkers or friends being aware of it.

This isn’t to say he never slips up, however. When close to reaching his goal, or when he simply considers a source of information no longer useful and is about to ‘discard’ (kill) it, he can let some fairly telling information slip. Call it a classic villain’s fault. For instance, when Newt mentions that an Obscurial because essentially dormant when the human it was connected to dies, Graves mutter that it became ‘useless.’ Then ordered Newt’s death, somewhat humorously declaring the reason to be Newt was clearly a follower of of Graves’ own terrorist political faction. He doesn’t hesitate for an instant about sending Newt or his friend Tina to death. The Greater Good justifies all evils done along the way.

On a personal level, Graves is actually a fairly calm and charming individual by nature. While playing a role to manipulate people has been further honed in his adult years, evidence suggests he had an innate curiosity and passion for life that others found engaging even in his youth. He also has a rebellious streak a mile wide, constantly questioning why any information or skill should be considered ‘forbidden.’ No information was by itself evil, to his mind, only the people that used it for an unworthy cause were. This lead him to being expelled from school as a boy, and to everything that came after. In addition to these aspects, the movie also demonstrates a fairly dry sense of humor. He is nearly indulgent about Newt’s magical creatures wreaking havoc, and at the end of the film doesn’t throw a fit that his plans have been thwarted, but rather takes it in stride.

Hand-Held Flames
This spell (incantation unknown) was used to conjure flames that could be held in one's hand without burning them.

The Flame-Freezing Charm (incantation unknown) was a charm that changed the effects of a fire so that instead of burning, it felt like a warm summer breeze. The subject would usually feel a gentle tickling sensation.

Fire Rope
There existed a spell (incantation unknown) by which one could conjure a long, thin flame from the tip of one's wand with which he or she could bind, ensnare or presumably harm a foe in an action similar to that of a rope.

Waddiwasi is the incantation of a charm that can be used to shoot whatever the caster so desires at the target or victim.

The Disillusionment Charm (incantation unknown) is a spell that is used to conceal the target. The charm makes that which has been bewitched to act as a chameleon, taking the colour and texture of that which is behind and around them.

The Unlocking Charm, also known as the Thief's Friend (Alohomora) is a charm that unlocks and opens doors and windows that are not protected by magic.

Unplottability refers to the deliberate concealment of several areas around the world. Unplottable locations are either magically hidden from plain sight or simply removed on maps.

The Silencing Charm (Silencio) is a charm that renders the victim temporarily mute, working on both beasts and beings.

The Shield Charm (Protego) is a term applied to several varieties of charms. They create a magical barrier to deflect physical entities and spells, in order to protect a certain person or area. Protego Maxima is a stronger version of the Shield Charm.

Repairing charms (also known as Mending charms) are spells used to repair objects.

The false memory charm (incantation unknown) is a spell which can be used by a witch or wizard in order to add a memory to their victim's mind without the victim realising it was not originally theirs. It differs from the Memory Charm in that the latter erases memories whilst this one adds them.

The Disarming Charm, also known as the Expelliarmus Spell or Disarming Spell (Expelliarmus) was a defensive charm which forced the victim to release whatever they were holding at the time.

Bombarda is the incantation of a charm used to provoke small explosions; one use for this explosion is to blast open sealed doors or to blow bars off of windows. The incantation Bombarda Maxima is a stronger, more powerful variation of this spell.

The Caterwauling Charm (incantation unknown) causes any unauthorised person entering the perimeter of a certain area to set off an "alarm" which makes a high-pitched scream.

The Amplifying Charm (Sonorus) is a charm that can be used to amplify the targeted sound, be it a person's voice or a piece of equipment.

CURSES

Blasting curse - This curse is a spell that causes anything that the spell comes into contact with to explode. This curse can be very dangerous and even deadly, if not used responsibly. It was used in the murder of 12 Muggles.

Cruciatus Curse - A tool of the Dark Arts and one of the three Unforgivable Curses. It is one of the most powerful and sinister spells known to wizardkind. When cast successfully, the curse inflicts intense, excruciating pain on the victim.

Fiendfyre- A bewitched flame of abnormal size and heat, infused with dark magic, capable of seeking out living targets despite being non-sentient.

Full Body-Bind Curse - A curse that instantly paralyses the opponent.

Imperius Curse - A tool of the Dark Arts, and is one of the three Unforgivable Curses. It is one of the most powerful and sinister spells known to wizardkind. When cast successfully, the curse places the victim completely under the caster's control, though a person with exceptional strength of will is capable of resisting it.

Killing curse- A tool of the Dark Arts and one of the three Unforgivable Curses. It is one of the most powerful and sinister spells known to wizardkind. When cast successfully on a living person or creature, the curse causes instantaneous, painless death.

Reductor Curse - A curse that can be used to blast solid objects into pieces. It is rather easy to reduce a target to a fine mist or a pile of ashes.

Sectumsempra - A dangerous curse, its effect is the equivalent of an invisible sword; it is used to slash the victim from a distance, causing rather deep wounds.

Tongue-Tying Curse - Binds the target's tongue to keep him or her from talking about a specific subject.

Power Sense
Graves can sense if someone has superpowers. Not what they are or how useful, but just that they exist. Works on both PCs and powered NPCS.

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:

[The communicator is either being carried by someone else, or simply floating after the man. Well dressed in his 1920s best, he is currently perusing the ‘occult’ section of the Heropa library. There’s a moment of silence as he traces the spine of one book, then simply begins speaking.]

How many tomes are able to be written on a subject this world clearly knows nothing about?

[He idly picks one book off the shelf- Idiot’s Guide To Protection Spells- and smirks as he flips through.]

I was something of a magical scholar- amatuer, really- in my younger days. Making the utter absence of new forms to learn about here an understandable disappointment.

[The book is snapped shut, and he finally looks up to smile into the camera.]

If there are any actual witches or wizards listening, I would appreciate a moment of your time. Or, barring that, anyone that has seen magic in their lives. I’ll settle for whatever information this world can manage to scrape together.

FINAL NOTES:
Rather than have Grindelwald be disguising himself with magic, I’d like to do with that since he was pulled into MoM while wearing Graves’ face, he’s just stuck that way. He’d have to use magic to make himself look like normal Grindelwald. This is only slightly because about 1 icon of Depp playing the role currently exists.
